iWitness in the UK: Thursday

Both AT&T Williams drivers have been at the team’s Grove factory every day this week. For Kazuki that’s not such a surprise as he lives in nearby Oxford, but it’s been good to see Nico so regularly. Our Monaco-based star has been in the UK since last Saturday, staying in his motorhome in the BRDC car park!
It hasn’t been only the race drivers at Grove, however. Our test driver Nico Hulkenberg is working at the factory to understand how an F1 car is built and yesterday he was working in the composites department, where he made a nosecone for a feature in German magazine Auto Motor und Sport. “I’ve always liked DIY,” says Nico.
The trackside marshals never usually get to see the F1 pitlane and paddock, so RBS did their bit for the Silverstone marshals today. Using their allocation of paddock passes, RBS gave garage tours to the marshals all afternoon. Mind you, that’s the last we hope to see of them this weekend!
It was first blood to Nico Rosberg yesterday, when he pipped his AT&T Williams team-mate Kazuki Nakajima to a Scalextric race at London’s Dreamvault. The pair were attending an Oris PR event ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix. What response will Kazuki have on the racetrack proper?
