iWitness Magny-Cours Saturday

Posted on Sunday 01 Jul 2007

The AT&T Williams drivers are enjoying different levels of accommodation this weekend. While Alex Wurz puts up with discos outside his bedroom window in the grotty circuit hotel, Nico Rosberg relaxes in the quiet luxury of his motorhome. And Nico’s food ain’t bad either: Vincent Crovisier, Michelin’s chef last year, cooks for him every evening. Wurzy isn’t the only driver to have suffered hotel dramas this weekend. When Sebastian Vettel jumped into bed on Thursday evening, he pulled back the covers to discover short, black curly hairs on his sheets. Nice. Michael Schumacher was back on-track yesterday, chauffeuring football legend Zinedine Zidane around Magny Cours in a £1.3 million Ferrari FXX sportscar. The two sporting greats are patrons of the ICM brain and spine charity, and this was Zizou’s first on-track experience. “It was a strong feeling, said Zizou. “In fact, I felt a little like getting out of the car. But it was a great pleasure to be with Michael Schumacher. It was a particularly exciting day in the team’s history on Saturday as the new and fully official fan club was launched. After a long wait, Williams’ loyal fans were rewarded with the AT&T Williams Club, an online portal dedicated to behind the scenes features, unique interviews and one off competitions. If you’d like to be a part of the Club, you have a choice of joining either the W-Circle or the more exclusive Frank's Circle. Once you’re a member, you’ll receive the best membership pack in the paddock and be granted entry to the all new website where you’ll have immediate access to all the inside information on the team at your finger tips! To become a member of the AT&T Williams Official Club, click on The Club in the main navigation or visit www.attwilliamsclub.com directly.
