21 June 2009: it must be Fathers’ Day. To mark the occasion, there were scores of kids in the AT&T Williams motorhome. To name just a few: Felix and Louis Parr (belonging to CEO Adam Parr); Toni and Jacques Michael (daughter and son of Technical Director Sam Michael) and let us not forget Frank Williams’ children Jonny, Jaime and Claire. It was noted that Claire was the only one doing any work…

There were a few sore heads at AT&T Williams this morning, following the annual Odell barbecue last night. The evening was organised by the team’s former account manager Jonny Odell and his parents and the fact that he’s now working for Just Marketing hasn’t stopped the flow of invites. Even the team’s Director of Engineering Patrick Head turned up!

Jackie Stewart was reunited with his 1969 World Championship-winning Matra MS80 this morning. The three-time World Champion and RBS ambassador completed several demonstration laps of Silverstone. “The car feels exactly as it did 40 years ago,” said Jackie.

There’s a three-week break in the calendar before the next race. While everyone at AT&T Williams’ factory will continue to work flat-out, the drivers are taking a bit of time out. Nico Rosberg is heading to Ibiza for a holiday, while Kazuki Nakajima is going to Norway. “I’m going with a friend,” says Kazuki. “We’re going to do a bit of sight-seeing, like looking at the fjords. I can’t wait!”
