The BBC and RTL did a piece with the five German drivers in F1 this afternoon, but they had to overcome two problems to make it happen. First, Sebastian Vettel turned up 15 minutes late for the interview, earning himself a slow handclap from his compatriots when he appeared; second, it started to rain as soon as the tape started to roll. “Welcome to the German winter,” said Nico Rosberg.

Luckily, the weather was good in England last weekend, where the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed took place at Goodwood House in Sussex. AT&T Williams took the opportunity to celebrate Frank Williams’ 40th year in motorsport and they had a variety of F1 cars on display, as well as past and present drivers. Damon Hill, Alan Jones, David Coulthard, Jenson Button, Kazuki Nakajima and Nico Hulkenberg all joined in the celebrations.

Frank Williams then flew straight from Goodwood to Amsterdam to launch McGregor’s new Williams vintage clothing collection on Monday. They’ve based the collection on the circuits where the team has won races, so look out for the Silverstone sweatshirt and the Suzuka shorts…

Nico Rosberg was back in shorts yesterday, when he played football in the town of his birth, Wiesbaden. He didn’t score a goal in the charity match, but he got very close. “How the ball didn’t end up in the back of the net, I don’t know,” he said.
