As one of the more fashion conscious drivers on the grid, Nico Rosberg jumped at the opportunity to have a pair of leather shoes made for him this morning. He dropped in at Vass Shoes in Budapest, where a pair of size 42s were stitched for him by hand. “They’re super-cool,” said Nico.
Last weekend it was the annual Williams F1 summer party. The team’s Grove headquarters were opened up to all staff members and their families, with fairground attractions, burger stalls and bouncy castles laid on for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights of the day was a fly past by the Red Arrows.
Hungarian rockers Tanksapda were guests of Hell Energy Drink in the AT&T Williams motorhome this afternoon. The band members, who couldn’t speak much English, had their photographs taken with Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima and were given a tour of the pit garage. Judging by their facial expressions, they reckoned it was all very rock ‘n’ roll!
Talking of rock ‘n’ roll, Force India driver Giancarlo Fisichella looks very suntanned this weekend, having spent the gap since the Nurburgring on his boat in Sardinia. Last week he was at the summer opening of Flavio Briatore’s Billionaire Club, where he was seen dancing the night away.
