Six months after moving in with his girlfriend Vivian, Nico Rosberg has revealed a frustration amid their domestic bliss. “I can never find my slippers,” he says. “I’ll spend ages looking for them, only to discover that they’re on her feet! What is it about my slippers?”

There were off-track dramas up and down the pitlane today when the phone network O2 went down. All comms at AT&T Williams and Red Bull Racing crashed, much to the distress of journalists in the media centre, who were waiting to receive their lunch invites.

Wannabe FIA president Ari Vatanen was in the F1 paddock today, hammering home his credentials for the top job. He met with many of the team bosses and spoke to the drivers after the drivers’ briefing, where we’re told he received a warm reception. Did he offer any advice on rallying to Kimi Raikkonen, who’s contesting Rally Finland next weekend?

If a couple of teams wondered where their drivers had gone this evening, iWitness can reveal all. Robert Kubica, Jarno Trulli, Giancarlo Fisichella and Tonio Liuzzi were all eating in the GP2 paddock. “There is the best Italian food at the Hungaroring over there,” said Kubica.
