iWitness in Valencia: Saturday

Nico Rosberg arrived in the paddock an hour earlier than normal this morning in order to do a breakfast interview with some Spanish journalists. The flaw in the plan, however, was that the journos failed to show, believing – no joke – that the interview was ‘manana’. To fill the time, Nico grabbed a copy of Grazia from our PR office.
A little later in the day, Nico emerged from his FW31 looking very red in the face and we’re assuming he wasn’t still fuming about the no-show from the Spanish journalists. “It’s so hot in the car,” said Nico. “In fact, it’s like Malaysia. I guess I look like my dad used to look when he got out of the car!”
Adrian Sutil’s fastest time in final practice was greeted by scenes of jubilation in the AT&T Williams garage. Mark Arnott, one of our IT gurus, bet £5 on the Force India driver topping the disrupted session. He got odds of 150-1 and pocketed £750. Drinks are on you, Arnie!
Ferrari stand-in Luca Badoer qualified last this afternoon. He was 1.5s slower than the penultimate car, which was a bigger gap than the margin separating the 19 cars ahead of him, and he was 14 positions behind team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. When will he get lapped? You going to have a flutter, Arnie?
