The AT&T Williams marketing team couldn’t resist stopping at Friterie Chantal, a roadside chip shop, en route to their hotel this evening. It’s become an annual tradition to stop there on the Friday of the Belgian Grand Prix and, unlike last year, there was no mayo spilt over Silvia Hoffer. Huge sighs of relief all round!The chefs in the motorhome published the guests’ menu for the rest of the weekend today. It’s been announced that Abu Dhabi will host F1’s first ever day-night race on 01 November. The race will start at 5pm local time, and with sunset scheduled for 5.43pm, the race will finish in the dark. “It sounds pretty cool,” says Nico. “I hear that the lights will be slightly different to Singapore, so it will be interesting to see what the visibility will be like.”
There has been much talk about the 2010 calendar this weekend, with rumours pointing towards a start date of 14 March in Bahrain. It’s thought that there will be 18 races (one more than ’09), with the extra slot being taken by Montreal on 06 June.
