Today’s season-opener turned into a bit of a celeb-fest, with the likes of actor Clive Owen, tennis player Monica Seles, comedian Rory Bremner and King Juan Carlos of Spain dropping in to see Fernando Alonso win his first race for Ferrari. Clearly, an F1 race is the only place to be seen this year.


AT&T Williams’ head of new business, Dom Riley, couldn’t hide his dissatisfaction this morning when our lovely catering girls refused to serve him his customary bacon and eggs for breakfast. The girls were only trying to look after his waistline, so did they really deserve what we call the ‘Room 101 treatment’?


Members of AT&T Williams will have less than a week at home before heading out to Australia, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have time to enjoy themselves. Hils, one of our travelling chefs, is off to the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday for Champion Hurdle day. Quick word of advice, Hils: only bet what you can afford to lose...


Economy passengers on Gulf Air flight 007 were surprised when 1978 world champion Mario Andretti came and sat with them en route to Heathrow on Sunday night. The racing legend, who once said he only travelled on Concorde outside the United States, was forced to downgrade following a last-minute change to his travel plans.
