Spa Test Day One
Posted on Tuesday 10 Jul 2007
Nico Rosberg opened the team's test at Spa today. Under pleasant conditions at the Belgium track, Nico covered a considerable 60 laps of the long 6.976km track.
Concentrating on set-up runs in the morning, the team worked steadily through a comprehensive preparation programme in anticipation of the forthcoming GP at Spa in September.
This year's race will mark a welcome return for the circuit on the F1 calendar following it's break last season.
Nico recorded the 9th quickest time of the day with a 1:49.288.
Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager, Williams F1:
'We spent the morning completing set-up runs and then in the afternoon we carried out a race simulation. Unfortunately a problem slowed our progress mid afternoon. Nevertheless, we still completed a considerable number of laps today. Tomorrow, Nico will be driving again and we will carry on with our set-up work for the forthcoming races.'
