We did more pitstop practice this morning, but we kept it short and sharp because we had to put the finishing touches to the F-duct that we were fitting on Rubens Barrichello’s car. It arrived at the track on Friday evening and we ran it for the first time during P3.

My understanding is that there were performance gains from the system, but we’ve still got some fine-tuning to do, so we took it off for qualifying. Anyway, our attention quickly turned to Rubens’ engine: it was running a bit flat during P3, so we took the decision to change it before qualifying.

Both drivers did a good job during quali, and particularly Rubens. We know what the car can do and he seemed to exceed those limits today, which was great to see. After the session, we checked the cars over; there was a bit of damage to the floors, but nothing major and we were able to get out of the track by 6.30pm.

Before leaving the track, I spent a bit of time preparing for tomorrow’s pack-up. We’re expecting it to be wet, so I started packing away everything that’s not needed for the race in an effort to minimise the amount of equipment that gets wet.
