Last night wasn’t a late one, but I was still able to enjoy a lie-in this morning because there was no on-track action today. Why isn’t there a rest day at every race?!
I got out of bed at about 9am (don’t tell the boss!) and walked into the track. It was a beautifully sunny morning: one of those days when you’re happy to be alive. In fact, I’m lucky to be alive because I accidentally walked onto the track this morning while the GP2 race was going on! All the marshals shouted at me and I was quickly back into position, let me tell you.
After such a hectic couple of days, I used today to catch up. I answered a lot of emails, made a few phone calls and set-up some TV features for the BBC and Channel 10 in Australia. We’re now ready to rock for the remainder of the weekend!
I think we’re heading out for a pizza tonight to celebrate Nick Hayes’s birthday. However, I think he got to bed very late last night, so I’ll be surprised if he makes it...
