Love is in the air...Congratulations to AT&T Williams’ Chloe Palmer and Jason Bullock, who got engaged last weekend. The couple met while working in the team’s motorhome and in true F1 style, they’re going to race up the aisle during the August break in the calendar. Honeymoon in...Spa?

Once again, there was air travel chaos for the F1 paddock today. The French Air Traffic Control strike resulted in flights all over Europe being delayed or cancelled, and there were repercussions for AT&T Williams. Frank Williams, Adam Parr and Sam Michael didn’t land until 10pm, which meant the new car parts they were bringing with them couldn’t be put on the cars until Friday morning.

There were long faces at Ferrari this afternoon after Italy were knocked out of the World Cup Finals in South Africa. To think the World Champions were beaten in Group F by New Zealand...It looks like Italy will have to rely on Ferrari, the other national team, to get a result this weekend.

By contrast, there were smiles at AT&T Williams yesterday when England beat Slovenia 1-0 to qualify for the knock-out stages of the World Cup. The mechanics knocked off early to watch the game in an Irish bar in Valencia, and we’re assuming that the pack-up after the race will be put on hold until after England’s next game against Germany. Hope it doesn’t go to penalties...
