Valencia Blogging: Saturday

Getting both cars into the top 10 in qualifying was a great result for the team and it confirmed that we’re on the right track with the development of the FW32. One swallow doesn’t make a summer, but today’s qualifying session was a timely boost for the team and I think we can put it down to three things.
First, we’ve introduced lots of new parts in Montreal and here, and they’ve given us a step forward in performance.
Second, we have a new spec Cosworth engine here and it’s a definite improvement – as proven by our speeds along the straights in sector 2.
Third, the drivers are doing a great job. They’ve both won races around the Valencia Street Circuit in the past – Rubens in F1 and Nico in GP2 – and they’ve pushed each other hard this weekend, which has driven the whole team forward.
From here, we’ve got to aim for a good haul of points in the race.
