Patrick Head has never been afraid to speak his mind, but he still managed to surprise a few people when he was issued with his typed media briefing this afternoon. “How do you expect me to read this, Liam” he said. “It’s so small it looks like a bird has dribbled on it.” That’ll be the lesser-spotted Clogger.

Those of you watching this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix in the UK should look out for two members of our marketing team on the BBC’s coverage. Liam Clogger and Nick Hayes ran in front of Martin Brundle while he was doing a track guide for the cameras. Be left in no doubt that the lads made sure they were at full tilt when they were on-screen!

Lewis Hamilton drove McLaren’s 1988 MP4/4 on Top Gear last weekend, but he’s yet to see the footage. “Was it good?” he asked today. “I loved the experience, but haven’t seen it on TV. The car really surprised me because it produced more downforce than I expected. It had a lot of grip through Copse.”

The Williams' boys are enjoying Budapest. For the second race in as many weeks, the whole team is berthed under one roof, but it is not the sense of community that has put a smile on their faces, but rather that TM Tim Newton negotiated a good rate at the Le Meriden, one of the best hotels in town.
