Today was a normal Friday for us. Both tyres look stable, but it looks as if the softer tyre is reasonably faster than the prime. As Nico says, our work in P3 will be aimed at achieving top ten qualifying positions tomorrow afternoon.
Rubens Barrichello
Runs P1: Run 1, new prime, 2 laps, installation check; Run 2, used prime, 8 laps, baseline; Run 3, used prime, 4 laps, aero test; Run 5, used prime, 5 laps, race set-up
Runs P2: Run 1, new prime, 6 laps, tyre evaluation; Run 2, used prime, 6 laps, set-up; Run 3, used prime, 6 laps, set-up, Run 4, new option, 6 laps, tyre evaluation, Run 5, used option, 12 laps, race set-up
My day went well and we managed to finish plenty of comparative tests which are important for the weekend. We can see already that it is going to be a very close grid and it will require our best efforts to qualify at the head of the group of cars we are running among. All of this makes it a very busy weekend in terms of the effort we need to make.
Nico Hulkenberg
Runs P1: Run 1, new prime, 1 lap, installation check; Run 2, used prime, 8 laps, aero test; Run 3, used prime, 6 laps, baseline; Run 4, used prime, 7 laps, set-up, Run 5, used prime, 3 laps, race set-up
Runs P2: Run 1, new prime, 6 laps, tyre evaluation; Run 2, used prime, 6 laps, set-up; Run 3, used prime, 5 laps, set-up test; Run 4, new option, 5 laps, tyre evaluation; Run 5, used option, 19 laps, race set-up
It was a positive day for us, we worked efficiently through our programme and got plenty of work done. It looks similar to Hockenheim here in terms of our relative pace and hopefully if everything goes well, we will be inside the top ten tomorrow.
