We’re a tough bunch at AT&T Williams, but few of us are harder than Nigel Hope. He was knocked unconscious by the stray rear wheel from Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes on lap 15 of the race, but after a quick check-up in the medical centre, Nige was back on duty in the pitlane. “I’m a bit sore,” he said, “but it’s not going to stop me working.” And indeed it didn’t: not only did he work at Rubens’ pitstop on lap 55, he was immersed in the garage pack-up after the race as well. Attaboy!

A quiet night out for our marketing team turned into anything but last night. They sat down for dinner in what they thought was a quiet restaurant in downtown Budapest, only to be asked to move their table to one side because they were “sitting on the dance floor”. With that, 2,000 revellers filled the room and danced the night away. (They did not, Frank...)

You know it’s nearly the holidays when Silvia Hoffer, our former press officer (now with McLaren) knocks on the door of the motorhome and asks for every copy of Grazia magazine she can find. “They don’t sell it in Italy,” she explains, “and I need something to read on the beach.”

Talking of the summer break, good luck to former Williams F1 driver Jenson Button, whose taking part in the London Triathlon next weekend. He’s raising money for the Make A Wish Foundation, of which he’s a patron. Go Jense!
