Jerez Test Day Two
Posted on Wednesday 25 Jul 2007
The team was back in action in Jerez today for the second day of testing at the Spanish circuit. A week’s gap between Europe and Hungary has afforded the team a three day test, valuable preparation time ahead of the forthcoming races in Hungary and Turkey.
Eight teams were present today, represented by a mix of race and test drivers. Only Ferrari, Toro Rosso and Spyker were absent.
In stark contrast to the weather we’re experiencing at home in the UK, conditions in Spain are optimum and are providing the team with a good baseline from which to work in anticipation of the high temperatures expected in Budapest and Istanbul.
Kazuki Nakajima, the team’s test driver, was on duty again for today’s session and worked through a long programme of set-up work in advance of Budapest and Istanbul. Only 0.004 seconds off Ralf Schumacher’s second placed time, Kazuki set the third quickest time (1.20.588) of the day on lap 17 out of 85 and covered a total of just under 400kms.
Tomorrow, Alex Wurz will take over driving responsibilities for the last day of testing.
