Jerez Test Day Three
Posted on Thursday 26 Jul 2007
On the last day of testing in Jerez, Alex Wurz topped the time sheets with a fastest lap of 1:19.962 on lap 17 out of 87. Only Alex and Lewis Hamilton for McLaren managed to break into the 1:19 barrier over the three day test. With temperatures soaring to 37 degrees in southern Spain today (and track temperatures hitting 53 degrees), the team worked through a comprehensive list of evaluation work prior to next Sunday’s race in Hungary. It’s been a busy week, but the programme is complete and the test team will now pack up and return home for a well deserved weekend at home. Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager, Williams F1: "For the last day in Jerez, Alex finalised the necessary set-up preparations ahead of next weekend’s race in Hungary and set the fastest time of the session. The boys have also done a great job today. Despite a number of scheduled changes, they managed to keep the car out on track for nearly 90 laps. Overall the test has been really positive, the team have worked through an intensive programme and done extremely well to finish everything on time.”Latest News
