Brazil's iWitness: Thursday

Rubens Barrichello provided the entertainment yesterday. First he took the entire AT&T Williams race team karting (won by Cosworth’s Pete Cheadle), before moving to the Jardineira churrascaria for dinner. Great fun was had by all, except for mechanic Jez Cave, who’s nursing some bruised ribs after being rammed in the karting event. Cheers Rubinho!
The new movie about Ayrton Senna had its Brazilian premiere in Sao Paulo last night, followed by a special screening for the media this evening. iWitness snuck in via the back door and was blown away by the 100-minute feature documentary. It’s a fabulous film. Good news for Senna fans in the UK: the provisional release date of June 2011 could be brought forward.
Has David Coulthard become the BBC’s UK Formula One correspondent? He didn’t travel to the Korean Grand Prix two weeks ago, choosing instead to watch the race from McLaren’s HQ in Woking, and there’s still no sign of him in Brazil this weekend. If you want to watch the race from Grove, you’re always welcome DC!
Coulthard was the only member of the BBC’s F1 team not to make it to Fogo de Chao for their annual press officers’ dinner this evening. Every team was invited to Sao Paulo’s most prestigious churrascaria and our own Claire Williams had an enjoyable evening sat next to Martin Brundle. The highlight was an impromptu set by Eddie Jordan.
