The team’s Nico Rosberg parked his Winnebago two kilometres from the F1 paddock at the Nurburgring. Clearly, that wasn’t far enough. At the Hungaroring, it’s even further away, in the midst of the Hungarian countryside. “I like to have a bit of peace in the evenings,” says Nico. Just him and the birds (of the feathered variety).
The supermarket chain Asda has jumped on the Lewis Hamilton bandwagon. The store in Stevenage (England), where Lewis grew up, has reserved a parking place for him outside its main entrance, complete with a name plaque and a drawing of an F1 car. Pity for Asda that Lewis now lives in Woking…
Kimi Raikkonen had his nose buried in a statistics book yesterday afternoon. It had been brought to his attention that his two car failures in 10 starts for the Scuderia didn’t compare favourably to Michael Schumacher’s two failures in 93 starts for the team. Some guys get all the luck, eh?
Want a new motor? F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone is going back to his car salesman routes on 31 October, when he’s selling a selection of his classic road and racing cars in Battersea Park, London. Why’s he selling? Who knows: perhaps he’s trying to reduce his carbon footprint.
