After a welcome three week break, Formula One gets back to work this week with a trip to eclectic Turkey for round 12 of the Championship. Istanbul is fast becoming one of the most popular destinations on the calendar due to the city's rich blend of cultures. With the circuit located on the Asian side of the Bosphorus and the team's hotels on the European side, Formula One gets a daily dose of East and West, traditional and modern, just by driving to work.

Designed by German architect, Hermann Tilke (the man also responsible for Bahrain, Shanghai and Sepang) Istanbul Park is one of the youngest tracks on the calendar. Despite having only made its debut in 2005, the Otodrom is quickly gaining a reputation for being one of the most challenging tracks of the season, the 5.3km lap being a true test of durability for man and his machine.
