AT&T Williams on TV!
Posted on Friday 31 Aug 2007
If you have plans tomorrow, cancel them right now! Starting on Saturday and running for the next two months, BBC World will be airing an exciting new, eight part TV series entitled “Formula For Success” and the ATT Williams team, in association with its partner, Philips Shavers, will be at its heart as the principal contributor.
Formula For Success combines the excitement of the premier league of motor sport with the insights of business theory and practice. The show gets under the skin of the world's greatest racing series to unearth the thrills, excitement and skills at the cutting edge of Formula One and demonstrates how they are so relevant to the global business community.
Working in close partnership with the ATT Williams team, the series will turn the camera away from the race track to use the Formula One analogy to highlight the challenges faced by today's global businesses and demonstrate what they can learn.
Whether it's knowledge creation and transfer, working in global teams, managing across boundaries or effective execution of strategy and sustained levels of performance, the series will explore how the likes of Williams F1 and their rivals overcome these challenges and how their working practices can help global business achieve peak performance.
There will be eight programmes in total running over the next two months, so, make sure you find a TV with Sky and tune into one of the most eagerly anticipated shows of the year!
Here’s just a taster of what’s to come:
Overview and Money
The opening episode of Formula For Success takes an in-depth look at the modern-day F1 team, its sponsors and what makes it successful.
As one of the world’s most popular sports, F1 epitomises glamour, celebrity, style and has a strong association with money and winning.
F1 is not only an industry that has retained its fiercely competitive, media hungry image, but has become a global business model. It generates an estimated revenue of more than $4 billion.
Watched by millions and rivalled only by the Olympics and World Cup, this global business is a far cry from the days when it was a niche sport run by enthusiasts.
Today sponsors spend an estimated $400 million a season to have their branding on the side of the cars or on the drivers' clothing.
