Monza Test Day Four
Posted on Friday 31 Aug 2007
The team have concluded a four day test session at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy today. Originally scheduled as a three day test, nine of the eleven teams opted to stay on for an additional day today due to the poor weather conditions which have severely hindered much of the week’s running.
The extra day didn’t deliver any drier conditions though as the rain continued to fall throughout much of the morning forcing the teams to stay behind garage doors. Fortunately, the sun made an appearance towards lunchtime allowing the drivers some valuable track time this afternoon.
Nico Rosberg remained on duty for ATT Williams and spent the little running time he had finishing off preparation work for the Italian GP. Nico set the fourth quickest time of 1:23.962 and completed 94 laps bringing the team’s weekly total to 308 (just under 1,800kms).
Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager, Williams F1:
"The rain affected our programme again today with the circuit only really drying out late morning. Despite the limited track time, we managed to work our way through all the set-up preparations we needed to for the Monza race. Thanks to the guys who have all done a really good job this week, particularly considering the poor weather."
