Well, we had a chat with Alex and peeled back the surface to discover everything there is to know about Alex Wurz.....
How many brothers and sisters do you have?
I have just one brother, Christoph.
How good is your eye sight?
20/20
What are your favourite films?
Thirteen days, The Usual Suspects and Madagascar
Who is your favourite actor?
Pedro de La Rosa!
What were your favourite subjects in school?
Sport and physics
What best describes your personality?
Tall and sporty
What size are your feet?

What languages do you speak?
German and English
What’s your favourite food?
Italian and Japanese
And your least favourite food?
Food which is cooked badly or is greasy
What’s your favourite music?
I listen to everything, from hard rock to classic
Who’s your favourite artist then?
A mix: the Postal Service, the Foo Fighters, Marque (a good friend of mine and excellent musician and song writer)
What’s your favourite colour?
It depends what mood I’m in
What do you get up to away from the race track to chill out?
I love kite surfing, mountain biking, rock and ice climbing, trial biking, airbrushing (I airbrush my helmets and surfboards)
Who would you say are your heroes?
I don’t have “heroes,� but I certainly respect all human beings, like everybody should
What do you look for in women?
Whatever is the most dominant feature which catches my attention first, I guess. That might vary from a smile, to their eyes, figure, bum, legs or face. However, I am happily married and love my wife to bits!
What was the first car you ever owned?
A Ford Taunus which I paid 150 euros for. My brother rolled it in the forest, shame
What car(s) do you own now?
Ok, it’s a bit of a list. A '72 Dodge Charger, a 52 Mercury - custom-made, a 34 Ford T bucket hot rod, a Mercedes Vito, a Renault Kangoo and a Mercedes A-class!
Who was your favourite Beatle: John, Paul, George or Ringo?
Volkswagen Beetle!
What was the last tune you downloaded?
Hmm, I’ve never downloaded anything from the web!
What was the first album you ever bought?
Boney M, and I still love it. But remember I am not as old as them!
What was your first ever job?
I’ve never really had a job, but the first money I ever earned “working� was from washing cars
If you could do any job in the world, apart from being a racing driver, what would it be?
I’d be a train driver so my son would finally think that his father has a cool job!
What was the most compelling race you’ve ever competed in and why?
It was a mountain bike race last year. I put the pedal down right at the start and told myself to go for it until I either died or won, fortunately I won.
Where are all your trophies kept?
In my parents’ house
Do you have any pets?
No pets, but I have some cows and goats at a friend’s farm in the north of Italy
How many bedrooms does your home have?
None, they are all playrooms!
Do you have a favourite drink?
Apfelsaft g'spritzt (translation - sparkling apple juice)
Have you ever bought or sold anything on eBay?
I’ve sold some kites on ebay, but I’ve never bought anything
The coolest hotel you’ve ever stayed in?
One called the Tengbotche Lodge in Nepal
Your dream holiday destination?
Home without a fixed leaving date. Failing that, Paracuru in Brazil
Is there anywhere you haven’t been that you’d really like to visit?
Yes, a few places! Like Iceland, Sweden, Ile de Margarite and Patagonia
Who would play you in your movie?
Arnold, of course, or maybe Winnie the Pooh!

I think it would be easier if you ask me who is not invited!

When I surfed for the first time in Hawaii, there was a razor sharp reef just 20 inches below the water level and a three metre, monster wave arriving bloody quick – my friend just said “hang loose!�
