iWitness in Canada: Sunday
Posted on Monday 09 Jun 2008 and tagged with iwitness, canada.
A new pair of tartan troos has been on parade in Montreal this weekend. Their owner was Ollie Anderson, a former army officer, who replaces Niall Brennan as Personal Assistant to Sir Jackie Stewart. How’s it going, Ollie? “Great,” he says. “The troos are a bit hot and itchy though…”
Mention of the word Anderson had most people in the Montreal paddock beetling down to Ferrari to catch a glimpse of Pamela Anderson (any relation? – ed). It was the Hollywood starlet’s first visit to a Grand Prix and iWitness couldn’t work out why the male-dominated F1 pitlane was keener on getting her autograph than the other A-lister at the race, Michael Douglas. Is her acting that good?
Sunday wasn’t a good day for Lewis Hamilton. After smashing into Kimi Raikkonen in the pitlane, taking both drivers out of the race, he went into the McLaren hospitality suite to get a cool drink. But he fared no better there: as a member of the McLaren catering staff lent into a cupboard to get a glass, the shelf broke and dozens of glasses smashed on the floor. Can we suggest you get out of bed the other side tomorrow, Lewis?
iWitness would like to send its condolences to the Villeneuve clan, following the death of Georgette Villeneneuve – Gilles’ mother, Jacques’ grandmother – on 31st May.
