Hit For Six
Alain Prost was totally dominant in 1993, and his win at the German Grand Prix was the sixth time that year he had won from pole position. He went on to finish the season as World Champion, and Williams took the Constructors’ Championship, scoring exactly twice as many points as the team in second place.
First 1-2
In the 1979 German Grand Prix, the Williams team secured its first ever one-two finish, with Clay Regazzoni finishing second behind team mate Alan Jones, who celebrated his first win for Williams.
Great British Achievements
Germany has been the scene of some landmark results for British drivers in Williams cars. In 1994, David Coulthard set the fastest lap for the first time and, two years later, Damon Hill took his 20th win as a Williams driver.
2003
Juan Pablo Montoya’s performance in 2003 was a real tour de force He took pole position, set the fastest lap and went on to win, more than a minute ahead of the car in second place.
Nineteen Eighty Seven
Germany saw the first win for Nelson Piquet in the season he went on to win the World Championship. It was a repeat of his victory the season before, a year in which he also won in Hungary and Italy.
