iWitness in Germany: Thursday

What have you done since the last race? “More than most,” says Nico Rosberg. After completing two days of testing at Hockenheim last week, he headed to Moscow for the Moscow City Racing event where he demonstrated last year’s FW29 around a 5km track. The best bit? “There were lots,” he says, “but I had some friends there and we had a pretty good night out…”
Nico’s busy week didn’t end there. From Moscow he flew to Germany to play football for the Nazionale Piloti on Wednesday evening versus a team of German celebrities. Despite the best efforts of Michael Schumacher, Nico, Sebastian Vettel and others, they were defeated 8-6.
The disappointment of defeat in the footie didn’t linger long for Vettel, who has been announced as Mark Webber’s team-mate at Red Bull Racing next year. “It’s a dream come true,” says Seb.
Finally, a big shout out to former Williams F1 star David Coulthard and his fiancé Karen Minier, who are expecting their first child. Is that why you’re retiring, DC?
