Kazuki's German Blog: Sunday

The German Grand Prix was an exciting race, even if it was an unrewarding one for the team. There was always a lot going on and there were stints when my FW30 felt good to drive. However, there was also a time when it felt really bad! A piece of Astroturf, which the organisers placed on the outside of many of the turns, got wedged under my front wing for about five laps during the final stint of the race and the car was almost undriveable. Luckily it worked itself loose and was flicked onto Fernando Alonso’s car, who promptly spun.
Even without that Astroturf drama, I wouldn’t have finished in the points today because the field was extremely close and we just didn’t have the pace. We’re introducing some new parts on the car at this week’s Jerez test, where I’m driving for two days, so I hope we can be more competitive at the Hungarian Grand Prix in two weeks’ time.
Away from the racetrack, I really must get a haircut. My hair’s getting a bit unruly and I’d better tidy it up before flying back to Japan for the three-week break. What would my mother say?!
