Kazuki's Valencia Blog: Friday
Posted on Saturday 23 Aug 2008 and tagged with kazuki, blog.
Today was a good day. I completed 60 laps of the new Valencia street circuit and made a lot of progress with the set-up of my car. There’s still more work to be done, but I think we are in better shape here than we’ve been at some tracks this year.
It was great to drive a real lap of the track after all the simulator work I did last week. The blind corners and dirt off-line make it quite a tricky lap to learn, but I got down to a competitive time quite quickly and I’m happy with how the day progressed.
The highlight of my day wasn’t on the racetrack, however. After the second session I was introduced to Yamada Yu, who is a big star in Japan. She began her career as a pitlane reporter for Fuji TV, since when she’s become a respected actress and model. She’s in Valencia this weekend doing some guest reporting for Fuji and we did a nice piece to camera this afternoon.
Now, though, I’ve got to return my thoughts to the FW30. We need to think of ways to improve the car ahead of tomorrow’s final practice and qualifying session.
