iWitness in Spa: Saturday

Spa being one of the oldest tracks on the F1 calendar, we asked our drivers to name the era in which they would most like to have raced on this track. “I’d like to have driven a Williams-Honda against Nelson Piquet in 1986,” said Nico; “for me,” said Kazuki, “it has to be the ’92 Williams.”Kazuki loves all forms of motorsport, so when he was asked to name his rider of the year in MotoGP and his driver of the year in the WRC, he thought long and hard. “It has to be Valentino [Rossi] in bikes and Sebastien Loeb in rallying. They have done the best jobs this year, haven’t they?”
The racetrack was busier than Piccadilly Circus this evening. Members of AT&T Williams, Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull all took to the track on foot and by bike. Our boys and girls made it back to the pitlane first – natch!
When asked to name the people he’d most like to have to dinner, Sebastian Vettel raised a few eyebrows in the paddock this evening when he named Jenna Jameson. “Ideally I would just invite porn stars,” he said, “but I can only remember the name of one.” Ahem.
