iWitness in Monza: Sunday

To help RTL with its build-up to the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix, Nico Rosberg has filmed a trailer for the German broadcaster. The lights in the AT&T Williams pit garage had to be turned out last night (night race, geddit?), and a spotlight was shone on Nico. He wasn’t a one-take wonder, however, because he held up five fingers to signify four days to go until the race…!

RTL could do worse than take some production advice from Williams’ Head of Communications, Liam Clogger. The 10-part “Formula For Success” TV programme that he masterminded for BBC World last year has just received a media and marketing award at the Beeb’s annual awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Attaboy!

Ronnie Peterson was killed at Monza 30 years ago. To mark the occasion, a minute’s silence was held on the Monza pit straight (the scene of Ronnie’s accident) this morning. In attendance were FIA president (and former March boss) Max Mosley, three-time World Champion Niki Lauda, Professor Sid Watkins and Ronnie’s brother, Tommy.
