iWITNESS - US Friday

Message to all F1 fans in Chicago: yes, it was Nico Rosberg that you saw on a sightseeing bus earlier this week. The AT&T Williams driver wanted to check out Al Capone’s hometown prior to arriving in Indianapolis on Wednesday evening. His stay in the city’s Hard Rock Hotel wasn’t focused on big red tour buses, however; Nico also did some training on the beaches of Lake Michigan. Baseball is big in Japan, which is why Kazuki Nakajima visited Victory Field, the home ground of the Indianapolis Indians, yesterday. No, there wasn’t a game taking place; the AT&T Williams test driver just wanted to stand on the hallowed turf. Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti was in the Indianapolis paddock yesterday. Although Dario is a friend of Lewis Hamilton, iWitness wonders if his presence in the McLaren garage riled a few of their marketing men. The team had tried to get Lewis onto the David Letterman Show earlier this week, but they were turned down in favour of Dario… Jarno Trulli is being very cool this weekend. He is commuting to and from the Brickyard on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and, what makes him cooler than ice is the fact that he doesn’t have to wear a helmet. Only shades to keep the flies out of his eyes. Quality.
