Algarve Test Day Two

The AT&T Williams team's 2009 race car, the FW31, had its second outing at Portimao's new test track in Portugal today.
Following the car's debut on Monday, Nico Rosberg took over the cockpit from test driver Nico Hulkenberg today to continue with the team's initial evaluation work. Bad weather, which also hampered running on Monday, persisted again for day two allowing Nico only 31 laps of the 4.686km track. Among the four other teams out on track in Portimao, including Toro Rosso, McLaren, Toyota and Renault, Nico clocked the fifth fastest time of the day with a 1:51.580.
Sam Michael, Technical Director, Williams F1:
“We had another wet day in Portugal today. When we could get out on track, we continued working on systems checks and completed some medium runs. We experienced a couple of reliability issues with the 31 which forced us into the garage for a while, but they were nothing major. The team is looking forward to some dry weather tomorrow.”
