I don’t want to read too much into today’s practice times, but I will say that AT&T Williams have had a positive day. We went through our usual Friday programme, with the result that Nico topped the times in both sessions and I was second and seventh.

My only drama of the day was a right rear puncture during the first practice session. I made it back to the pits okay and suffered no other damage, so it wasn’t a big problem, except for the fact that I had to use a new set of tyres earlier than planned.

Do I think we can set the pace again in qualifying? That might be tough, particularly with the pace of the Brawn cars, but I hope I can start the race higher than 13th, which is where I started at Albert Park last year.

With the late start of the practice sessions, I didn’t leave the track until 10pm this evening, so I ate dinner in the hospitality area and went straight to bed when I got back to the hotel. Not very rock ‘n’ roll!
