Nico Rosberg was glad of the late start time today, having got lost en route to a filming session with German broadcaster RTL this morning. Instead of walking the short distance from his hotel to the location, he elected to drive and found himself on the motorway to Sydney!
Following Brawn Grand Prix’s 1-2 finish at Albert Park, Sir Richard Branson – whose Virgin logos appeared on the sides of the BGP 001s – got a call from Bernie Ecclestone. “When do you land at Heathrow,” asked F1’s ringmaster. “I’ll meet you and take you to the nearest casino. I’ll then place a million pounds on whatever you tell me at the roulette table!”
Dannii Minogue was an interested spectator this afternoon. She’s in Australia for four months while she films a series of “Australia’s got talent”. Will it take that long to find some talent Down Under? What about AT&T Williams’ technical director Sam Michael?
Talking of talent, a very happy 40th birthday to AT&T Williams’ head of communications, Liam Clogger. By way of celebration, he completed a 15-mile run this morning as part of his preparations for the 2009 London Marathon on 26 April. There’s life in the old dog yet!
