Dom Reilly, AT&T Williams’ Head of Acquisitions, couldn’t make it to the racetrack today after being struck down by a virus. He spent the day in bed at Manama’s Seef Residence hotel, and not by the swimming pool – honest!

Nico Rosberg’s press breakfast this morning was with the Bahrain media. He wasn’t asked too many questions, but they all wanted to have their photograph taken with him. Yes, as was the case when he visited the oldest souq in Manama on Wednesday afternoon, they thought he looked like Leonardo di Caprio!

BBC commentator Martin Brundle is having a slightly torrid weekend. On Friday evening he was forced to hitch a lift back to his hotel after losing his car keys (subsequently found at Brawn GP); then, on Saturday afternoon, he was spotted running down the paddock at 1.55pm after mistakenly thinking that qualifying started at 3pm. Doh!

F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has broken the habit of a lifetime this weekend by flying 24 cars from his collection in the UK to a race weekend. Everything from a pre-war Auto Union through to the Brabham ‘fan’ car of 1978 is on show at the Bahrain International Circuit. No Williams’ though...
