Nico's Monaco Blog: Friday

To call the Friday of Monaco a ‘Rest Day’ is a bit of a misnomer because everyone at Williams was hard at work today. I allowed myself a lie-in following the team party on Thursday night, but that was the extent of my resting.

I had engineering meetings at the track; I had to do some media interviews and this evening I took part in the Amber Fashion show. It was good fun, although I’m not cut out for modelling because I got quite nervous before walking out onto the catwalk to model Petra Ecclestone’s latest collection! At least there were a few other drivers – Webber, Vettel, Jenson, Piquet and Lewis – suffering with me.

The evening raised a lot of money for charity and it was fun to see a few stars from other walks of life enjoying themselves. I spotted Liz Hurley in the crowd, plus Elton John’s partner David Furnish and the English comedian David Walliams.

Afterwards, it was a case of grabbing a bit to eat and then heading home to bed. There will be no lie-ins tomorrow because I have a press breakfast with the Italian media in the motorhome.
