Dan’s interest in motorsport started on the karting track in 2009, where he achieved numerous wins and podiums at club level in the Junior series. In 2011, he achieved a karting Grand Slam by winning all four British National Championships and, two years later, he became the European Vice Champion in KF Junior and was the winner of the Margutti Trophy.
In 2014, Dan raced with Zanardi Strakka racing in KFJ, he finished the season as Vice Champion in WSK Masters. He also broke the lap record at the Brands Indy circuit on his first test in single seaters with Lanan Racing in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship.
In 2015, he signed with Fortec Motorsport in the FIA approved MSA Formula 4. He led the early rounds of the Championship until an incident at Silverstone meant he was unable to complete the rest of the season. Dan still managed to finish sixth in his first year of single-seater racing.
Dan returned to motorsport in 2016, racing in the final round of the European Formula 3 Championship in Hockenheim with Carlin. He then won his second comeback race in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship Autumn Trophy event at Snetterton. Later that year, Dan also competed in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix with Double R Racing.
In January 2017, Dan was announced as a Red Bull Junior Team driver and competed in the 2017 Formula Renault Eurocup series with Arden International. He also competed with DAMS in the final three rounds of the 2017 GP3 series at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Circuito de Jerez and the Yas Marina Circuit, scoring podium finishes. In November 2017, he won the legendary Macau Grand Prix and finished his year by winning the 2017 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award. As part of his Red Bull Junior Team duties from 2017 – 2019 Dan was a Formula 1 race support simulator driver.
In 2018, Dan raced in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship together with Motopark where he finished the season as Vice Champion. He also competed at Sugo and Fuji, in two rounds of the 2018 Super Formula Championship with Team Mugen. In November, Dan won the 65th Macau Grand Prix, claiming historic back-to-back victories.
In 2019, Dan competed in three races of the Super Formula Championship in Japan with Team Mugen Honda. He also took part in successful official Formula 1 tests with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing during the first in-season test in Bahrain in April and the second in-season test in Barcelona in May.
In 2020, Dan will race in FIA Formula 2 with DAMS, alongside his Williams Racing Driver Academy commitments.
