WAE Joins Forces with Formaplex for Electric Vehicle Record Attempt
Williams Advanced Engineering has lent its expertise in areas such as driving dynamics and aerodynamics for this unique record attempt; skills honed by competing in the highest levels of global motorsport for over four decades. Williams Advanced Engineering has used its Computational Fluid Dynamics capability on the external body shape to help reduce drag and improve the centre of lift. The company has also worked on the dynamics of the electric vehicle which has involved optimising its suspension layout and setup for improved efficiency and vehicle stability. This project is another addition to Williams Advanced Engineering’s growing credentials in developing high performing electric vehicles. The company developed the batteries that power the cars competing in Formula E, the world’s first fully electric racing series, and helped develop the hybrid C-X75 super car with Jaguar Land Rover.
