Williams Advanced Engineering provided aerodynamic support for a championship-winning world touring car manufacturer. The aerodynamic development involved a combination of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel testing.
The car was developed in cooperation with the customer to support the wider car development program. Over a number of wind tunnel tests the car performance was enhanced, leading to a car with more downforce, less drag and improved stability compared to the initial car.
Performance tools were developed to assist the customer’s race operations such that the aerodynamic setup could be optimised for each circuit throughout the season.
Williams Advanced Engineering also supported the manufacture of race components throughout the race campaign utilising the company’s advanced manufacturing techniques.
