Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for a Product Manager reporting to the Product Director/Head of Product Management. This is a key role that is responsible for guiding the success of a product range throughout its lifecycle. Activities span from strategic to tactical and provide important cross-functional leadership to build a scalable and maintainable product portfolio.
The successful individual will be responsible for product concepts, planning, delivery and marketing throughout the product lifecycle. They will work closely with development/engineering and other teams to deliver products that align with the strategic vision, meet market needs and are delivered to a consistently high-quality standard. They will also be required to identify the key benefits and value of products which will be used to create and maintain marketing plans, web updates and product training materials.
Key duties of the role include the writing of business cases for investments/funding with a view to obtaining internal approval, product marketing, planning and budgeting to ensure de-livery against targets and the collection, management and maintenance of requirements from all stakeholders across product revisions and releases to guarantee traceability.
The successful individual will be able to work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish partnerships to realise products and will be the recognised expert in the business on their products, the market, relevant technologies and the competitive landscape. They will be required to perform product demos to customers and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
To be successful in the role you will have at least 2 years’ experience in developing a product portfolio from both a commercial and technical perspective, have excellent communication skills and comfortable working with people at all levels in the business including senior leadership to represent the voice of the customer.
Ideally you will be qualified in a related engineering or business management degree. Interpersonal and communication skills are important parts of the role as you will be a key player in a small, dynamic team.
Some international and national travel to attend customer meetings and agreed events will be required.
