2019 Williams Grand Prix Engineering Apprenticeship Opportunities
Williams are recruiting for exciting apprentice opportunities across out operations department, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for engineering, along with the confidence, belief and determination to succeed in a company that offers variety, interest and responsibility with great engineering prospects for the future.
Williams are currently seeking the following engineering apprentices:
2 x Machinist Apprentice
As a machinist apprentices you will be trained and developed to operate three and five axis milling machines and CNC lathes that cut a diverse materials range and ensure patterns /jigs/race car components are produced in the most efficient, cost effective way whilst keeping lead-times to a minimum.
1 x Proto Machine Shop Apprentice
As a Prototype machine shop apprentice, you will be trained and developed to manufacture high specification components in a range of materials using 3 and 5 axis Hurco, and 5 axis DMG machine tools which are both supported with Siemens NX CAM and Vericut verification software.
1 x Composite and Pattern Shop Apprentice
Composites and pattern shop apprentice will be base within two departments and be trained and developed with a focus on laminating and working on composite parts and manufacturing/finishing handmade patterns to the standard required for the part that is to be manufactured from its mould.
This is a 4-year Apprenticeship where you will attend OAS in Culham in which you will graduate as an Engineering Technician.
As part of your first year training you will attend OAS full time with some keep in touch days held here at Williams. At the end of your first year at college you will then return and do block release to attend college.
We are interested in applicants from a variety of backgrounds, who are committed to pursuing vocational qualifications in engineering. A minimum 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above is required including Maths and English. Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive support accordingly; this is including regular performance evaluations with the nominated manager to aid professional and personal development. Successful applicants will be able to communicate effectively, have a positive attitude to work and a mature outlook. A flexible attitude to work and hours is essential, as well as being a good team player.
Closing date is Monday 26th August 2019 - Invitation to initial assessment centre will be during the week commencing 2nd or 9th of September, with a college start date of 30th of September 2019.
