Interim Procurement Officer
We are currently seeking a Procurement Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager they will provide category expertise to the business facilitating best value procurement to time, cost and quality imperatives. Working as part of the Procurement team to promote and implement high professional standards commensurate with the standing of the business.
Key responsibilities will include;
• Plan and organise category work streams, both tactically and strategic development.
• Ensure that all aspects of transactional procurement of goods and services for category are achieved.
• Optimise total value being delivered to the end user - on time and to the required quality standard.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers that provide best value to the business.
The ideal candidate will have proven purchasing experience working within a fast-changing engineering environment, preferably supported by a CIPS qualification. In-direct category experience in particular ICT, Marketing, Utilities and Capital and the ability to react quickly and prioritise immediate operational requirements for goods and services.
The successful candidate will engender positive working relationships both within the team and across functional boundaries. Sell the value of the Procurement function to the wider business and to drive realisation of commercial opportunities via greater engagement.
