Pit Equipment Designer
This is an opportunity to join a team of dedicated and driven engineers to have design and development responsibility for all mechanical aspects of pit equipment, including pit equipment used during pit stops, in the garage and factory.
Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will have design and development responsibility for all mechanical aspects of pit equipment, including pit equipment used during pit stops, in the garage and factory.
Operational Duties:
To design and develop the mechanical pit equipment used during pit stops, in the garage, on the grid and the factory.
Maintain associated documentation for each of the pit equipment assemblies
Manage regular pit stop working group meetings between all relevant parties
Some international travel and extended working hours are likely during periods of high work load.
The willingness and ability to react to new requirements and problems quickly, positively and efficiently are key requirements of this role.
The ability to work across a large range of departments within the company and communicate effectively are also key to this position.
An open minded and practical approach to problem solving while acknowledging and controlling costs are important. The majority of projects undertaken will require basic costing of bought in and WF1 manufactured parts which must be reviewed with the relevant parties.
A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite along with Siemens NX CAD and ATLAS would be ideal attributes.
Experience and Qualifications:
Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Good practical knowledge of manufacturing techniques and material properties.
Design experience in a relevant industry, ideally 3 years minimum.
Staff Development & Training
Implement the company’s Health & Safety policy.
CAD conversion training will be supplied where necessary.
