Our History

Williams Grand Prix Engineering Ltd is founded by Frank Williams and an ambitious British engineer called Patrick Head. The company is based in an empty carpet warehouse in Didcot, Oxfordshire, and enters a purchased March chassis in order to compete in F1 during the latter half of the season.

Systems Data Controller

We are currently seeking an experienced Systems Data Coordinator Engineer to join our F1 Mechanical Design group, working on a wide variety of projects. 

Purpose of Role:

This role has two main areas of responsibility.

Assist the Project Management team in the execution of the component release process. Create CRS's and maintain the BOM using bespoke tools in TeamCenter. Communicate with internal stakeholders on any issues arising and resolve problems so that parts transition from design to manufacture in a timely manner.
To ensure master data is maintained correctly within WF1's ERP system [Microsoft Dynamics which includes monitoring and maintaining the interfaces which generate master data and transactional data within AX. This part of the role will require working closely with procurement, production, inventory management, finance, planning and engineering to ensure data quality, and compliance to the relevant operating procedures.
Job responsibilities:

Create CRS header's ensuring they are correctly populated with data following the standard operating procedure.
Process CRS revisions (to release components) ensuring that they are compliant with company standards.
Communicate with relevant stakeholders to report any issues with CRS revisions.
Ensure that relevant stakeholders are kept up to date with new part revision levels as they are released. Develop processes relevant to the role to improve productivity and the quality of output.
Job responsibilities:

Execute changes to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 master data as approved by the business. Undertake material and finish products master data setup, validations and periodic maintenance.
Perform mass updates as required.
Work with business depts. and process experts to resolve master data and process issues.
Ensure data quality, compliance and consistency of master data across the WFI Dynamics AX system.
Support the business with required procedures, submit incidents and change requests when needed.
Assist business process experts in defining standard operating procedures, process flows and related documentation.
Provide data analysis and develop methods / processes to extract and present data. Develop methods and processes to improve productivity and quality of output.
Capabilities:

Good standard of education to at least 'A' level preferably including STEM subjects.
Experience in a similar role preferably in an engineering environment.
Ability to establish good working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Possess a good understanding of system workflows and business processes
Demonstrate good problem solving and team working skills together with the ability to work under own initiative.
Self-starter with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Good team player with an approachable professional manner.
Flexible approach to working hours in line with fluctuating work requirements.
Analytically minded and methodical worker.
Process orientated.
Able to efficiently prioritise work and timely inform stakeholders on progress.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Ensure that the company's Health & Safety policy is observed.
Any other tasks and responsibilities required by the company that are reasonably within the role holder's capabilities and skill set.
Participate in projects and initiatives across multiple functional areas. Assist in the development of more junior team members.
