Round 5 heads to Montreal, and if history tells us anything, it’s that the Canadian Grand Prix rarely does “predictable”.
Weather has long played its part here – from showdowns in the rain to sudden downpours that turn strategy completely on its head. Even in more recent summers, Montreal has a habit of keeping teams guessing right up to lights out.
This year, though, brings a small piece of history. For the first time ever, the Canadian Grand Prix lands in May – the earliest date the race has ever been held. In recent decades it’s been firmly a June staple, while the very first editions actually took place in the autumn.
So as we arrive at this new slot on the calendar, one thing remains familiar: in Montreal, the only guarantee is that nothing about the conditions ever feels guaranteed.
