The fourth round of F1 Academy season took the grid to Zandvoort, with the Dutch circuit making history as the only venue to have featured in all four seasons of the series. For Jade Jacquet, the weekend brought her best qualifying result of the season so far, as she secured P9 in a challenging wet to dry session.
With conditions improving throughout qualifying, Jade was one of the drivers to make the switch to slick tyres. Two red flags interrupted the session which limited the time available for the field to set competitive laps, but Jade initially climbed as high as P8 before eventually settling in P9 as the times improved around her.
The Reverse Grid Race proved more difficult. After dropping to P10 at the start, Jade recovered to P9 following an early Safety Car. Her race came to an unfortunate end on Lap 8 when contact with teammate Lisa Billard sent Jade into the gravel, forcing her to retire.
Starting P9 for the Feature Race, Jade made a clean getaway but dropped to P11 after being overtaken by Ella Lloyd and Esmee Kosterman. She spent most of the race within striking distance of Kosterman, closing to within 5-tenths by the start of Lap 15, while coming under pressure from Billard behind.
Jade brought the car home in P11, securing her best finish in the F1 Academy series to date and adding another race finish to her campaign. Having come agonisingly close to scoring her first points, Jade leaves Zandvoort with her strongest qualifying performance and best race finish of the season so far and valuable experience from another challenging weekend on the F1 Academy calendar.
