Malaysia added to 2026 calendar to host Bahrain Grand Prix

Formula 1 and the FIA have today confirmed that Malaysia will host the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.
The event, which remains subject to final agreements and official sign-off, will be known as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia and take place on 02-04 October between the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix.
The Sepang International Circuit was a fixture on the F1 calendar from 1999 until 2017, and Atlassian Williams F1 Team have some standout memories from the popular venue, including a 1-2 finish with Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya in 2002.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said: “We are delighted to confirm that Malaysia will host the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2026. Once again, the sport has demonstrated its ability to adapt, find solutions, and deliver, creating an exciting moment for everyone who follows Formula 1.
