After a whirlwind first three races of his Formula 1 career, Franco Colapinto would have been more grateful than most for the Autumn break.
However, our Argentine racer is excited to be getting back behind the wheel of his FW46 once again this weekend as he prepares for the United States Grand Prix.
It will be his debut outing at Circuit of the Americas, and his first of three F1 Sprint weekends, a challenge he is ready to take on.
“It’s great to be close to home in the Americas for the upcoming triple header,” he commented at the start of race week.
“This weekend will be my first time racing at COTA and first Sprint Event in F1.
“Only having one hour of Free Practice makes it a challenge to get up to speed before Sprint Qualifying but I’m determined to hit the ground running.
“During the break, I’ve been putting in the work on the simulator back at Grove with the team to be as prepared as possible.”
It’s going to be a special weekend for his teammate, Alex Albon, who will reach a century of race starts when he lines up on the grid this Sunday.
“Finally, congrats to Alex for 100 races in the sport,” FC43 said. “It’s an amazing achievement that he can be proud of.
“Hopefully we can mark the moment with a positive result as a team this weekend.”
